What’s Missing?

To all my Christian friends, pastors, ministry leaders. God is stirring in my heart and I find myself somewhat troubled. We talk so much about worship and creating an atmosphere where the presence of God can move in and through His people to bring healing and deliverance, freedom and victory over bondage and fear. There is an emphasis on understanding who we are in Christ, the authority we have been given and the inheritance we have as children of God all of which is good and true, but it seems all we do is relish in our freedom and seek to grow in our understanding of our identity as sons and daughters of a good father while the world goes to hell and we barely notice.

What has happened to the modern church? Where is the message of hope and salvation for those who are lost in sin? What was the mandate that Jesus gave before he ascended to heaven? “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you…” Matthew‬ ‭28:19-20‬ ‭NASB.

Where are the ‬‬heralds of truth calling sinners to repentance? We worship and cry out to God for His presence and seemingly take no thought of those who God longs to have worship at our side, but they are far from Him.

God truly is a good Father and longs to have a relationship with his creation. The depths of His love, His mercy, and His grace toward us is undeniable and we should worship Him with all our heart for who He is, but what of those who are unaware of His love, His grace, His mercy? What of those who will never see the righteousness of God until they face Him in judgement?

The relationship we have with God, the truths we have learned, the understanding of who we are in Him are all blessings He has given, but it is not just for us. We have been given all these things to empower us to reach a lost and dying world. Let’s worship our God and pray for an atmosphere where His presence can manifest healing and deliverance to His people and in so doing empower us and embolden us to reach out to those who have no clue that they are lost and without hope in this world.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'” Isaiah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭NASB‬‬
